Hilary Duff Felt ‘Quite Sad’ Watching Docs on Britney Spears and Exploited Child Stars: ‘I‘m Grateful I Wasn‘t Put in Too Many Positions That Left Battle Wounds‘
> “I think I feel really quite sad when I watch a lot of those documentaries, for obvious reasons,” Duff said. “I feel very grateful that I wasn’t put in too many positions that left battle wounds on me. Pop stars recounting their careers has kind of just solidified for me the lie of the pop ecosystem. Its sold as being about talented people living their dreams but its peoples dreams being monetized and corporatized and their humanity slowly eliminated bit by bit. Some have had strong enough support systems to resist the worst of it others had families like Britneys.
