$12.5M previews for a biopic is kinda nuts… 96% audience score too, feels like critics might’ve been off. this might actually have legs, did people see this coming?

Is this going to 100m domestic OW? Good WOM, strong walk up business with an originally solid 70-80m projection might over perform to 100+

Wait, but this sub told me the controversies would be the end of this movie… oh and the critics scores… oh and that audience scores would go down… oh that wom would make this not his $100 mil OW… what’s going on? 😭

Saw it last night (Romania), fewer people than I’d expected, considering a *lot* of folks still to this day talk about that Bucharest 1992 concert as if God himself descended onto our freshly post-communist country.
My review: the “movie parts” kinda sucked. At best it was cookie-cutter and nothing more. Colman Domingo somehow plays both a caricature and the most uninteresting antagonist you can imagine.
But whenever the music starts playing, boy oh boy is it magical. Genuinely felt as if I was there a few times.
Think that’s what’s gonna push it closer to 1B than most people think. It’s the closest thing a lot of fans have to actually seeing MJ perform live.
