Neuralink’s first implant partly detached from patient’s brain. Some of the threads connecting the chip to the brain began to retract. The Elon Musk-owned company did not explain why.

    God I hope this thing finds a way to fail disastrously without hurting people. I feel so conflicted about wanting it to not work when it not working could be so harmful to people who have it.

    It’s so sad because the idea of this kind of assistive technology could be so Star Trek hopeful for people like the guy who got it, but there’s no one funding this shit who I’d trust anywhere near my brain.
