Sample Reviews:
Jacob Oller, AV Club C+ – The well-designed but stretched-thin adaptation feels uncannily authentic to its online source material, for what it's worth.
Rocco T. Thompson, Slant Magazine 3/4 – Backrooms is undeniable, both as a future load-bearing pillar of the internet-born horror movement that’s now breaking ground and for being built on a concept that feels truly new.
Matt Singer ScreenCrush · 19m Fresh score. 8/10 Backrooms may be set in 1990, but it’s about the horror of now.
Linda Marric, HeyUGuys 5/5 – Disturbing, visually unforgettable, and intellectually ambitious, Backrooms is the kind of horror cinema that treats atmosphere and ideas as inseparable from spectacle.

Reviews are mostly pretty good-to-great, which in the grand scheme of things makes this the Citizen Kane of viral-horror-trends-turned-big-budget-movies. Congrats to Kane Parsons on an excellent debut, and may he have a fruitful career ahead of him!
A24 strikes again!
Undertone, The Drama, and now Backrooms.
Reviews seem good
This, obsession and scary movie to keep the BO occupied for a while
To the moon we go
i had a good feeling about this movie, glad early reviews reflect that. hopefully it sustains a good number but either way my ass is in that seat on saturday afternoon.
thats a great start!
I reckon this Kane fellow has a bright future ahead of him
This may be another horror film with an A- cinema score
As someone who’s watched all the youtube videos, so happy for him that this seems like it’s going to be a hit! Always believed Kane had the juice.
I like that during the red carpet for Backrooms, Kane was going around and teasing his next project talking about the Sun lmao (it seems to be a cosmic horror premise). I’m excited to see what he has lined up, especially since its looking to be an original idea.
Congratulations to Kane Pixels aka Kane Parsons, on his first film, which is sure to be a resounding success.
to few reviews to tell any thing about the film
Can’t wait for Backsession this weekend
