‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Opens to Series-Low $98M in North America. Does It Even Matter? – In the post-pandemic era, any title opening to that level would be celebrated, while out-of-this-world exits, especially among kids, could fuel a long run and win over a new generation of fans.

Estimates were continuously adjusted down throughout the weekend. That does not indicate a “long run”
The spin for this movie bombing is insane.
I’ve heard people say the target audience for this is kids and I don’t really buy that since as someone who works as a teacher, I’ve heard the students talk about 3-4 films
1. K pop demon hunters
2. Mario
3. Toy Story 5
4. The sonic movies
5. And surprisingly the Micheal Jackson movie. Especially since I would think the current generation of kids doesn’t know who he is
I hear nobody talking about this movie at all
I see Disney is paying for damage control
It feels a bit strange to say that kids will help the movie when the vast majority of viewers were adults and it was one of the more older leaning Star Wars films
Why dinklefart is a baby
Headline writer’s on some strong copium
lmao the spin is killing me
Disney must be paying these people mad money.
The *amount* of spin articles there have been *insane.*
I’m just gonna say it… this movie is very over hated tbh. It’s a shame that it’s underperforming.
It matters when the company doesn’t make a profit or it failed to meet profit expectations.
the pic attached is so fuckin funny to me, it just sums up so much about modern star wars

This movie hasn’t even been out a week and I am already so sick of the excuses. “Its a movie for kids”, “People aren’t going to theaters that much anymore”, “It had a cheaper budget than Solo!”
Let’s see. The Mario movie has made over a billion dollars. Project Hail Mary, based on a book and no previous existing franchise, has done phenomally. So those BS excuses don’t work.
Guys. It’s freaking Star Wars. It used to be a cultural icon. And people have just checked out. Disney hurt the brand irreparably, and pissed off the core fanbase, and they’re not showing up for this movie. Just franchise tourists and walk-ups. That, and it’s simply not a well made or written movie.
This performance is simply unacceptable. And it speaks volumes to how hard Star Wars has fallen from relevance. And it’s just sad.
Theres no way this is is a genuine opinion instead of somebody being told to spin. In what universe can a serious box office analyst say “series-low” and “does it even matter?” right after each other?
I’m not that big into Star Wars but I saw it this weekend. It’s fine but it felt like a streaming movie. Disney just needed to get a Star Wars movie into theaters.
