All I remember from this one is the Quicksilver scene and Oscar Isaac’s talent being wasted

Similar to **The Last Stand**, I didn’t hate this film, but it was a substantial downgrade from previous two entries. In fact, it seemed like the film went from first act to third act with not a whole lot of signs that second act even existed in the first place.

Quicksilver’s awesome scene was pretty much the only thing one could remember about this film.

I found it funny when it joked that “the third one is always the worst,” which felt like a jab at X-Men: The Last Stand, only for it to end up repeating many of the same mistakes.
The only standout scene was Quicksilver’s sequence. Aside from that, the movie felt dull and repetitive. It was especially disappointing after how strong X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past were.

This movie was a steaming turd.
One hell of a way to go out for the horrible human that directed it, too.

Unlike The Last Stand, I actually remember really enjoying this one when I first saw it…only to really start thinking about it more and realizing how swiss cheese most of it was plot-wise. Then by the time I saw they were doing Dark Phoenix (again) and New Mutants (which of course just kept getting delayed without updates forever) I was just praying for another reboot.

The only good things about this movie are the Quicksilver scene and Psylocke in the comic accurate costume.

Could NOT carry the momentum that DoFP set up for it in 2014.
Matthew Vaughn was the key to this franchises success after everything fell apart following X2 / Singer’s departure. And from my knowledge, he was not involved in this at all and it shows.
And it’s a shame because when I saw DoFP I genuinely thought Fox’s X-Men had a chance at being their own Marvel contender.
But this movie is so awkward. I get that Jennifer Lawrence had become a big star, but the forced focus on her character I think brings the movie down a lot.
The core of these prequel movies was the dynamic between Erik and Charles. Mystique kind of hijacked this because well Jennifer Lawrence is supposed to = $.
Quicksilver scene in this is amazing and better than the first one imo (hot take).
After that scene the movie falls really hard. Hugh Jackman cameo could not save this movie.
Mess of a film that released so close to CA: Civil War that showed that it was a behind the scenes talent problem and not a problem of “it’s too many characters and things going on” because Civil War is just as busy but not a mess.
Could’ve easily hit 1 Billion imo off the success of Day of Future Past if they’d handled this properly.

Movie is decent with some very strong scenes(Quicksilver, the egypt opening and the nuke launch) but the plot was all over the place, Apocalypse never really seemed as dangerous as he should’ve been and his horsemen were severely underutilized aside from Magneto(kind of). The soundtrack is amazing though.
Also never really understood how Wolvie ended up in the Weapon X program when he was saved by Mystique at the end of DOFP, would’ve made way more sense for him to be teacher at the school X-Men Evolution style.

Third worst XMen film. Yes, worse than New Mutants. At least that tried to do something different. Somehow despite getting new actors for Storm, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Jean they just make the same mistakes as the previous bad XMen movies.
This a two hour superhero movie where the biggest development is that Xavier is now bald.

Magneto and Xavier casting was always great in these films
