This is, for me, the most surprising and exciting box office story of the last decade. An original film created by a bunch of 20 somethings outside studio focus groups, etc. having so much success is astounding.

The movies are actually back, 2026 is seeming like a historic year for film, so many upcoming films that are a must see in theaters.
**Most surprising BO run since Top Gun: Maverick and leggy in a way that is breaking all the norms, so may as well make some wild predictions:**
1. Week 2’s weekdays will be flat or increase compared to Week 1.
2. Weekend #3 outgrosses its opening weekend.
3. ~$200M domestic finish.
4. Obsession dometically outgrosses Mando & Grogu.
5. Curry redoes his deal to direct the Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot in light of Obsession catching fire.
6. Whether Curry agrees to it or not, Focus Features commits to turning Obsession into a franchise.
At least 3 of the above 6 items will come true. 🤓
