Some comps I’ve seen
Aladdin-$810M
Oppenheimer-$717.8M
Bohemian Rhapsody-$539.5M
Impressive legs, but you need a strong Japan & Russia for $1B (and i think Michael will do $1.02B)
one billy incoming…
Incredible stability. A+ level performance, despite poor weather conditions in most of Europe.
OPPENHEIMER vs MICHAEL
1. wknd: 180M vs 218M (+38M)
2. wknd: 405M vs 430M (+25M)
3. wknd: 556M vs 581M (+25M)
4. wknd: 648M vs 706M (+58M)
5. wknd: 718M vs 782M* (+64M)
Oppenheimer finished with 975M.
Michael will finish above 1B, with Japan yet to join (June 12th).
*the official number may end up higher again!

123+ million more to go to unseat Bohemian Rhapsody and become the highest grossing musical biopic in history.

I don’t know if somebody mentioned it already but Lionsgate had their earnings call this week and even they are now projecting Michael to be their first billion dollar movie for the studio. Lionsgate really deserves a win.
I still feel confident about the $1B question, especially with a boost from Russia and Japan which didn’t opened there yet.

-53% drop. European heat hit the movie hard.
$1B in sights! The first ever biopic to do so.

The magic of those legs

I’m still on the billion dollar train but damn nice weather in Europe slowed it down a bit, lol.
At least 50m more domestic.
Whatever Japan adds. I have no idea anymore what that’ll be after people were saying Mario 2 who make 70-80m in Japan and its limping to 50m.
Idk, its going to really close, imo
The hard on this sub has for Michael lately is so weird
Drop isn’t really good internationally, but that’s expected because it had awful but explainable drops in some countries. Could still challenge up to $850M by next Sunday, maybe closer to $840M. Without Japan it should finish with $970M. So Michael needs around $30M or $25M plus $5M from Russia
This ain’t reaching a billion.
Big drop compared to previous weekends because of the great weather in Europe this weekend but hopefully it stabilizes in following weeks.
Impressive! Will take time but $1 billion is on the cards. I will never doubt that
The drop is considerable, but we will see if it hits 800-ish tomorrow. Ahead of Oppenheimer which is really the most relevant comp
Flop?
VS $813M for Aladdin. Looks like it will be another movie cutting it close to the billion
Two more markets to go, Russia & Japan.
A bigger than expected 52.5% drop from last weekend.
So, basically $30M+ once actuals are tallied.
Yeah thats not a billion
