Excellent run

Super happy for Obsession! Mighty impressive weekend that should lead to $100M domestic depending if it can coexist with Backrooms next weekend.
It wasn’t a $20M opener last weekend, but already it’s pulling ahead of Smile ($53.5M), The Black Phone ($49.3M), M3GAN ($56.8M) and Longlegs ($44.9M) within this time frame.
When horror films hit, they really hit and legs become superb. Amazing for a genre known for big second weekend drops.
I’m obsessed with this run. Instant classic.
number 2 movie this weekend

>Estimated total domestic gross through Monday stands at $58.58M.
Which would get it 3.4x legs off is 17.1 million opening. Hitting 3x+ legs before the start of the 3rd weekend? Sheer insanity. Definitely the box office story of the year (so far at least).

I’m so impatient. It will open in a month in my country
Insane to jump in weekend #2
What a hit.
I want to see this movie so badly but it’s not releasing in my country until June 25 😭
I watched the film and i really like it. Btw 30% increase over previous weekend is gorgeous. Keep it up! Obsession
What a time to be alive.
1. wknd: 17M
2. wknd: 58M (3x multiplier from its opening weekend already!)
100M+ domestic final locked, perhaps even 150M+ depending on Backrooms.
With a budget of only 750k, Obsession is going to have the strongest multiplier in a LONG TIME.

Nikki to everyone:

Inde Navarrette is a ⭐️ I’m recommending fans of horror and not to catch her performance in this movie in a movie theater asap
Obsession needs at least $122MM domestic to become the #1 horror movie of 2026
my god
That’s fucking insane. Sound of Freedom is probably the only good comp for a film that increased that much its 2nd [weekend](https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl4254237441/weekend/#tabs). IDK, maybe all comps are tossed out window…this film is the box office story of the year.

Huge win for independent creators. >!Yes its a Blumhouse film but they bought it after it went through the festival circuit.!<
Mando may be #1 but this is the real winner of the weekend
Absolutely insane. I love box office stories like this.
Best movie of the year. It deserves this
Yesssssssss!!! Couldn’t be happier. Everyone involved in this movie deserves this success!
High critic and audience rated movies lose about -30% for its second week, Obsession just said naw, I’m making +30% in my second weekend lol.
Many commenters are now being strangely conservative about this film’s trajectory. A second weekend increase is a RARE thing. Expect small decreases for several weekends, as this is one of those rare films that is entering the zeitgeist and infrequent filmgoers check it out as word continues to spread and people drag their friends to their repeat viewings. 100$ million will be a walk in the park and even 150+ feels easily attainable.
The Blair Witch Project of the 2020s. You love to see it!
I’m hoping Curry Barker puts Inde Navarrette as the final girl for his Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie.
