Dear You
Dear You grossed ¥54.1M/$7.95M today. Expectedly drops from the boosted day yesterday. However more importantly Thursday is up from Tuesday, Monday and even last Friday.
4th weekend projections rise to ¥304-350M/$44-52M(+17%). Which almost unbelievably would be the 2nd best 4th weekend of all time. Behind Ne Zha 2(¥1.10B) and ahead of Ne Zha(¥290M). And as a fun tidbit if it actually reaches that high end and does $51M+ it would also beat out the 4th weekend record in North America currently held by Avatar 1($50.3M)
It really is just a fairy tale run. This movie has a $2M budget for crying out loud and stars pretty much a cast of newcomes. Its also almost exclusively in a specific region dialect.

Star Wars: Mandalorian&Grogu Opening Day Pre-Sales
An unremarkable finish to the pre-sales.
Opening day projections settle at $1.5M-ish into a $5-6M opening weekend. I mean i guess it could be worse all things considered. However China is definitely not gonna be a market that turns around this movies fortunes.

Summer
Do note that the vast majority of the local summer lineup including all the likely heavy hitters has not been announced yet. There are rumors. Even interviews confirmations of what might come but no real official announcements yet.
The 2026 China Film Fair and 29th National Film Promotion Conference will be held in Xiamen from the 20th to the 23rd of May and should see a decent ammount of detail about the upcoming summer lineup.
As for Holywood most of the June lineup as well as Minions&Monsters on July 1st is already announced. The most notable miss from June so far is Disclosure Day but that should be coming as well.
For July Moana 2, Odyssey and Spider Man which is already rumored to have passed review will be announced in due time as will be Paw Patrol 3 for August.

How did other SW movies fare in China
The final total will probably end up closer to its projected opening weekend for Mando
Im glad china has moved away from the 2010s trend of loving hollywood. I am glad for any nation developing a stronger film culture and economy, and glad that hollywood films increasingly wont try to appeal to every nationality under the sun.
Is the June 26th movie the only one announced so far from the film festival?
