I am a bit excited and I will go see it but can’t say my hype is through the roof
And I find honestly weird that the first star wars movie in 6 years is a spin off or a big finale from a tv series which were super popular only in the first two seasons out of 3. I mean, I think it can still do 500 or 600m ww but I don’t think it’s right to have super high box office expectations for this movie
And I don’t like this hybrid tv series movie approach . I think some franchises are just better for the big screen only , this is true for star wars as well as marvel or DC or harry Potter , just to name a few big popular franchises . It’s like asking people not to just watch other movies but also other tv series to get a full comprehension of the movie you’re hyping. It seems a little off to me and I think it’s one of the reasons why some of the last marvel movies underperformed even if they weren’t super connected to these tv series . To have a universe it’s ok, but to expand it even to different tv serieses , it’s a bit too much to ask . It creates saturation and quality tends to have lot of highs and lows if you produce lot of contents.
Anyway, I think star wars is pivoting again to movie theatres, considering also the next gosling movie . So I am ok with mandalorian, boba Fett, ahoshka … But please let’s keep star wars movies to the big screen only

Unfortunately, I have to drive all the way to San Francisco to watch this because Boeing IMAX, which has been bought by Space Needle, will not be showing any kind of feature films from now on. At this rate, they might as well be throwing out the Dual Laser projector and turn it into a strip club. 😤😤😤😤😤
I know that this is such a terrible thing to say, but the mean-spirited part of me is starting to hope that this, **The Odyssey**, and **Dune: Part Three** all turn out to be abysmal financial failures to a point where IMAX Corporation gets stripped apart, allowing 4DX and/or CINITY to convert existing IMAX screens to their own and become next big things.

Call me crazy but I’m expecting Solo numbers, maaaaybe it cracks 450M but I don’t see it.

Probably the most consequential release for Disney outside of doomsday a lot I think rides on how this does for Star Wars

Disney power. It helps them that theatrical owners know they will get the movie for a long theatrical window.

This is still the most bewildering film project for me in awhile. Let’s restart Star Wars films again, but hey basically make it season 4 of a tv series. Bizzare.
