Michael keeps holding strong in 3rd weekend despite losing IMAX screens. Friday did nearly $9M and with help from Mother’s Day, 3rd weekend may reach about $35M for drop of just 35%. Domestic box office cume would be near $240M after 17 days. $300M club locked.

    1. Seems like most people were wrong about it being front loaded (me included)

    2. This movie isn’t slowing down. I wonder how much is based on rewatches.

How’s international doing? Any chance of it reaching 600M this weekend?

Should be able to add 100m more to its domestic total after this weekend.

I’m more interested in the international numbers. UK Friday hold was great and Michael will pass Mario in that market.

Strong performance. It‘ll be by far the highest grossing musician biopic at the domestic box office!

      325M-375M domestic final.

Memorial Day weekend should provide a strong boost for this film.

I’m in the UK and just checked my local cinema for this weekend. Big screens have been given back to Michael from DWP2 and almost all screenings over the weekend are sold out, bar a few seats here and there.

There’s a slight chance that it could take the #1 spot today over mk2 and prada

I love it that the majority of us said this movie would be huge but a vocal minority said young people wouldn’t care about Michael. Then the demos showed mostly young people and they were shocked.

Because Michael is 4 quadrant movie and has a perfectly structured 3 act story with family themes older viewers will start to show in the upcoming weeks.
