The market hits ¥34.1M/$5.01M. Down -12% from yesterday and down -18% from last week.

Dear You continues to impress increasing +10% today compared to yesterday. The only movie in the top 10 to increase. Total projections now at ¥200M+/$30M+. 2nd weekend projected at ¥37M/$5.4M
One thing to note is that were less than a month from Childrens day on June 1st and there's not really been any movies announced for the date yet. Especialy Animated movies. Doraemon used to be a staple for this day but with the temporary ban on Japanese imports it remains to be seen what animated movie will fill that gap.

it’s genuinely fascinating how all or nothing business seems to be in china, even for the local movies. every few years there will be one movie flexing how big the market is and then dozens just doing 3% of it
May is gonna be barren for this market huh except for Dear You over performing.
