      These numbers are excellent for both movies.

      I commented on Michael’s opening worldwide weekend that i thought it was going to end up doing 800m.

      But, now I think MJ might be headed to a Billion worldwide. Star Wars is the last big wide release this month and these holds everywhere are making me think a sub 30% drop

      It really is a longshot, but if “Michael” steadily drops over/under 40% every weekend worldwide, it could reach $750m worldwide, sans Russia, Japan and South Korea. Those 3 territories combined earned $205m for “Bohemian Rhapsody”. It’s too early to tell, but by God, Michael has a chance to become the first $1b biopic of all time. It will pass Rhapsody’s $215m domestic total by Saturday, but it will very difficult to beat that film’s $695m international cume (I still scratch my head how on Earth did Freddie Mercury made those international numbers – he really was an icon). Over/under $320m and over/under $630 is where I’m currently seeing Michael for an over/under $950m worldwide cume.
