Never thought I’d live to see the day that Mortal Kombat II becomes one of the more over-predicted movies of the summer by the trades. Neat.
Think it will do **$50M+** debut atleast.

I really can’t get the excitement for this one. The first one was ass.
It’ll definitely be front loaded. It’s stupid to compare the box office numbers to the previous one since it came out during covid and it was day to date streaming as well. Got my tickets for tomorrow in 2k xenon 6ch IMAX.. yay.
Considering the 1st one grossed 42.3 million over its entire run, this would be great. Granted it was a simultaneous streaming release, this indicates continued interest.
The first film opened to $23M ($28M adjusted) in the middle of Covid in April 2021 along with an HBO Max day and date release.
Think a $50M+ debut is very doable here.
