A great closure to a great trilogy. James Gunn’s Marvel tenure went out on a high note. Also, this is the first time that an MCU film contained an audible F-word and it’s one of the best uses of F-word in a PG-13 film. In fact, if what I’ve heard is correct, this was actually improvised by Chris Pratt.
The film is also noted for showing that James Gunn is an aspect ratio troll. You see the film’s non-IMAX version alternates between 2.39:1 and 1.90:1 with the latter aspect ratio is used for 45 minutes. As for the IMAX version, almost the whole thing is in 1.90:1 aside from credit roll, post-credit scene, and closing logo.
Finally, you can tell that this film spent $250 million budget EXTREMELY well from CGI, set designs, costumes, make-up, cinematography, and so many more.
For me it is the last great MCU movie and a great epilogue to the Infinity Saga
Do people still pretend this didn’t underperform?
To this day one of the best MCU films and a great ending to the Guardians trilogy.
One of the only times I’ve ugly cried in a theater
