My Martin Short story-In 1991 in Muskoka Ontario, I went to present a donation cheque to Camp Oochiegeoas (sp) a camp for kids with cancer. When I arrived, I was told Martin Short would be joining us for lunch. I was seated next to him at lunch. I am a 6 foot tall, redheaded woman, and he had great fun with that. Each guest had to sing a song, so I sang mine and when he went to sing his, he jumped up on his chair. He kept me in giggles with interesting conversation and loads of jokes all during lunch. He was a wonderful man. Shortly after lunch when I went out to make the presentation of the cheque for the newspaper pictures I looked around and he wasn’t there. Afterwards, the camp Director told me that his cottage was across the lake and he often came over, by himself, in a small boat with an outboard motor that he piloted home self. Hr visited with the kids whenever he was at the cottage, but he never ever wanted any press about it. Because of my job I got to go to a lot of events like TIFF, Toronto
Maple Leaf hockey games and baseball games etc and i met a-lot of celebrities. He by far was the nicest I ever met! That man was hysterical. He was class act and I will always remember that day and my time with him 💙💙💙
