A well-timed post on this day, undoubtedly. But also interesting there are more parallels – the writers liked to really put the hurt on O’Brien and Tyrol a lot. The curse of being just a good, hard-working man, I suppose.
I dunno if we worry about spoiling anything for such old shows (“Hey, BSG isn’t old”, you might say, but it is, dear reader, but it is. And you might be too, if you refuse to acknowledge that!), but just in case, the rambling before should have warned you:
They even both have plot-lines where it turns out they aren’t who or what they think they are… But Tyrol probably had it harder than O’Brien overall, O’Brien at least had Bashir…

People hated on the “slice of life” episodes but I thought they were vital to showing how this society of billions is crumbling as they try to survive. The low level pilots, soldiers, workers, even the black marketeers had interesting stories
