Now it’s Doug Liman’s turn.
Final mission impossible was too long, way too long. I think they should have just included the full version of all the past movies at that point. Also felt like a tom cruise montage which is saying something of a tom cruise movie.
I think the issue it’s the last mission impossible was that the stakes were too high. A world ending AI and the governments loan is to csend a single person who’s plan is to trap it on a USB stick? Either comit to craziness like the Fast and furious franchise or go back to a more measured villain. Not everything needs to be an extinction world destroying level threat. The stunts were spectacular but it was like watching a mid tier marvel/F&F mash-up.
Issue with the last MI (or last two MI) was trying to tie them to all the previous movies.
