Wow, that’s very good news, but given the expectations of the public and the industry, it can be considered a disappointment.

I just saw it. I enjoyed it a lot. Not as good or as sharp as the first and it has a more subdued and depressing vibe. But I love the characters and seeing their evolution was intriguing

  4. A shame presales imploded in the final days and walk-ups is less than expected.

Not to worry, international will carry this movie to big profit.

Huge numbers here. Imagine telling someone the sequel to devil wears prada would open to more than 60 million.

Unfortunately, presales were front-loaded from the start, it might end up doing similar numbers to Thunderbolts.

Prada likely lost momentum with Michael currently getting all the attention. But on a $100M budget and overseas looking great, this will easily be profitable before it enters weekend two.

Based on how mid the reviews are, I have a strong feeling this isn’t going to be as “must-see” as people have been pumping it up to be. I expect a rather large 2nd week drop.

Beyond the opening wknd audience, I suspect MANY will opt to stream this rather than shell out $20 to see it in a theater. It looks like an airplane movie.
