That’s a lot. If you have the money to burn and want to see a movie in the ideal format, good for you I guess. I’ll probably stick with a regular ticket. With $50 I can get netflix with ads for 5 months and watch more movies and shows with it.
Michael’s general ticket price $15, plf $18.50, imax even more and over 40% of box office came from these super-expensive ticket. Eminem in his prime opened 8 Mile with 51M from average ticket price slightly under $6.
Using the Mario Galaxy movie as a thumbnail was an interesting choice.
the only “bright side” i’ve seen with prices is that A-List prices have gone up at a relatively slower pace and its made the hurdle for making that worthwhile slightly less. When i first signed up i recall it being like 18 movies a year to break even. now its like 13.
i got an email recently that my rate was going up to $26.99/mo this summer, and i was strongly thinking about finally cancelling, but then a non discounted dolby ticket is $25 and change after taxes anyways.
its just suply adn demand and people willing to pay that price to saythey saw it first
Not surprising. The theaters are going keep raising prices on ‘fan event PLF’ screenings.
The report that came out a couple months ago that Gen Z is now the primary age demo it also said upper middle class is the prime movie going crowd.
Tickets are going to keep getting more expensive to cover the gap in decrease attendance. It is what it is.
Isn’t movie theater attendance struggling? How does this fix that?
Does this exclude it from their regal unlimited?
It’s literally cheaper to see a Broadway show
Things like this are why I don’t care if theaters go out of business.
