It’ll be a hit as well. I think people will be shocked hoe much Gen Z likes late 80s- 2001 mikes music. His 90s catalog is loved by the younger generation but seems to be underrated by older people.

  2. See? They’re going to use the strip search and 90s court scenes. Probably with Chandler’s name changed, but still. Use it or lose it. Such is the Lionsgate creed… all they need is a legal loophole to dodge the settlement’s language.

  3. Chris Rock once said, “people like Michael Jackson so much they let the first kid slide.”

  5. I don’t think it’ll make as much as the first, but if they can roll over footage meant for the first movie and keep the costs lower, it’ll still do half a billion.

  6. Yeah I bet it could, if the Jackson family doesn’t spend millions to prevent that from happening.

In a world of biopics, the most unnecessary thing is a 2 part biopic.

  7. I really don’t think they should bother with Part 2. Going from a feel good musical film about a star’s rise to fame to a courtroom drama about pedophilia accusations can turn people off a lot. I could see the second one having a Joker 2 level collapse with the huge tonal shift. They should just quit while they’re ahead after the success of this one.

  8. Considering the OW numbers. There’s little chance of a followup that introduces controversy. Likely more of the same positive aspects of his life.

Probably be an incredibly sanitised, still 2 dimensional movie that’s just incredibly pro Michael Jackson.

Lol they never planned on releasing the second part, they just said that to avoid any backlash before release of the first one.
