$41M Friday? Nah it’s going over $100M with that, maybe $110M even if it holds tomorrow

Just got out of it, enjoyed it, definitely got a big boost of adrenaline everytime one of the songs blasted and Jaafar and Colman are really good as the leads, especially considering this is the former’s acting debut. Though I kinda felt they left a lot on the table especially the Jackson 5 era that just felt like it came and went

    3. The fact that there were some people here who thought a Michael Jackson film was gonna underperform🤦

“Depending on word of mouth” as projections keep constantly rising.

Media want this movie to be controversial so bad lol.

      **$100M+** opening, here we come.

April has been really strong with *Super Mario* and *Micheal* and *Hail Mary*.

Similarly, May is going to be sustained by *Devil Wears Prada 2*, *Mortal Kombat II* and *Mandalorian & Grogu*.

Strong start to the summer season.

    6. I wasn’t alive during MJ’s prime, all I really remember about him is him getting made fun of in the Scary Movie franchise lol.

But I saw the movie and yeah, I get it. Good lord his music is incredible. And those moves.

So it made about $29m true Friday. Idk why but I feel like Joker 1 is a good comparison to use. That movie had a $26m true Friday off a $13.3m Thursday and proceeded to hit $96m. So the true Friday was 27% of the gross. An identical multiplier would get Michael to $104m. It’s gonna be tight

    8. That june japan opening is a cheat code. it gonna have a nice run now and *could* get back in the headlines again if japan pushes it across a billion.

    9. Once in a generation icon – the way Reddit lowballed this movie is wild. I’d say it’s the young ones but 60% of the audience was under 35. It’s just the loudmouths on certain sub reddits.
