    >**Universal Pictures’ upcoming Miami Vice movie officially has its Tubbs and Crocket as well a new title as Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler are set to star in Miami Vice ’85 with Joseph Kosinski directing. The film will be shot for Imax and is set to bow on Aug. 6, 2027.**

    >The film explores the glamour and corruption of mid-80’s Miami in an all-new version of Miami Vice, inspired by the pilot episode and first season of the landmark Universal Television series that influenced culture and set the style of everything from fashion to filmmaking.

    >Deadline reported last fall that both actors were in talks to star in the pic but was not expected to go into production till fall of 2026, so there was no rush to close deals. Insiders add the film only recently went to get its budget greenlit and once the studio gave the thumbs up, deals for Jordan and Butler closed soon after

  2. I would’ve liked at least one of them being Latino. Instead of all the secondary characters and bad guys being Latino. Miami is like 65 percent Latino …

  3. I hope it will be better than Mann’s version, where main characters were really unlikable and had zero chemistry with each other.

Miami Vice starring Jordan and Butler with Kosinski directing? Take my fucking money.

I have to admit, I loved Michael Mann’s version. I can’t imagine this will be a better film, but it’ll definitely be more successful financially. Let’s hope Kosinski decides to do something cool with it
