Shocked by how kick ass it was relative to the bad reviews and box office. Will be seeing 2 in theaters for sure and think it will see a big gap up from 1 due to positive WOM/media dissemination from HBO Max.

Im so excited. Mortal Kombat and Masters of the Universe. Fans of cheeseball cinema are gonna have a field day.

Godzilla vs. Kong and Mortal Kombat were the two films that pushed theaters forward at reopening, and I feel like that should’ve ended the HBO Max experiment.

i wsa so dissapointed. Mortal kombat without mortal kombat. The best fight was on yt before cinema. Useless plot with the sign that is inhereted.

For what it’s worth, it’s still one of the better video game adaptations out there, not to mention that it really DID manage its $55 million budget well. Granted, I would not compare it to something like Tenet ($200 million), **Godzilla vs. Kong** ($200 million), **Free Guy** ($125 million), **Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings** ($150 million), **Dune: Part One** ($165 million), **The Matrix Resurrections** ($190 million), **Moonfall** ($146 million), **Black Panther: Wakanda Forever** ($250 million), or **Avatar: The Way of Water** ($350 million) since those ones still required far more CGI or practical effects, this is still a great budget management overall.
