I miss the cycle that movies used to go through. First theaters, then out of theaters, then a waiting period, then DVD, then digital, then syndication.
It used to be a big deal when a popular movie finally hit TV. I remember people forming watch parties because they haven’t had access to the movie since they last saw it in theaters (if they saw it at all). That dry spell just pent up more demand because there was no social media feeding people clips, or streaming to give us access whenever.
Sorry Steven times have changed. It isn’t 2001 anymore. Disney are still doing 60 days go make a movie there if it’s that what you want. 120 days is never coming back.
120 days makes no financial sense anymore
100%. Gotta kick it up to 60 at the least. Well past time to make a genuine attempt at training audiences to learn that the movies *won’t* be streaming until a good while later.
