I think this could be a sleeper hit like Sound of Freedom was in 2023. Not quite at that level, but it’s possible this could be a surprise $100M earner

I just hope it’s historically accurate, Washington was a shit tactician, an expert horseman. shit businessmen, great strategist, horrible public speaker, and a great judge of other’s characters (minus Arnold).

I had no idea what Wonder Project was. Kinda smart for AmazonMGM to open/partner with a faith-based production company, and that explains why this is shooting significantly higher than the average Angel Studios release seems to.
Now, I have remaining qualms here. Serkis, Kingsley and Grammar are all bigger names than Angel/faith stuff usually gets, but they are working actors who aren’t above getting paychecks, too. The historical accuracy and the message is a big concern – there’s a lot of propagandistic America 250 stuff coming out, but lots of good stuff too. What side will this land on? Also, from a box office nerd perspective, we don’t know the budget. Is it an overspend, or frugal?
At the same time, this seems like the kind of thing that would have made $125 million domestically in 2000. Harkens to when stuff like The Patriot filled theaters in the past. If it’s good I would hope to see it break out as a sleeper hit.
