Fathom Entertainment and Viz Media will bring the opening three episodes of “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity” to cinemas across the U.S. for a limited theatrical engagement on June 25-29, before the final season reaches broadcast or streaming platforms.

Both subtitled and English-dubbed versions of the episodes will screen nationwide as part of the premiere run, which will also include behind-the-scenes footage and a conversation with series creator Tite Kubo alongside chief series director Tomohisa Taguchi and series director Hikaru Murata.

  1. The theatrical run being handled by Fathom and only lasting 4 days is a major let down.

Viz Media should’ve partnered with Crunchyroll for a proper theatrical release.

  2. Viz’s first theatrical engagement with Fathom, likely the first of many. Sucks it isn’t longer, but hopefully those 4 days will have it on thousands of screens across North America, a la *Chainsaw Man* and *Demon Slayer.*

(If there’s a RWBY movie, pick a real studio, please. Disney might love what you can offer.)

It’s being handled by fandom and is only lasting 4 days.

But that makes sense. Bleach is by far out of it’s peak of popularity in the West and Japan, it’s great that we’re getting a final season but it’s past it’s hayday.
