This will easily make more than songbirds and snakes. Looks very good. 450-500 mil WW.

Idk if it was a conscious choice to go for 70s sci-fi aesthetics but I’m really digging it. This will do very well, especially since it is leaning into nostalgia (which is fine I guess as long as it doesn’t overwhelm the story).

Looks excellent. Should be another much-needed hit for Lionsgate and company.

Kind of trippy seeing a movie this colourful. Forgot how it felt like, awesome!

I see Thia is as chipper as ever.

The casting is spot on. This will make bank. It helps that it’s pretty much a standalone story and not Part 1. Having read the book, one can enjoy it without watching any Hunger Games film.

Let’s put it this way. If Songbirds and Snakes, with its unconventional story structure, morally dubious lead in a young President Snow, and mixed reception from critics, still managed to gross almost $400m, imagine how much *this* will make

This could wildly surpass everyone’s expectations imo. Completely type of book than songbirds and snakes, it has hunger games 1 and catching fire energy. The cast is loaded and the trailer looks 10x more exciting than anything they released for songbirds and snakes.
The technology, fashion, and satire will be ripe- this book has the most mature themes and content yet imo.
I am so excited.

Not gonna get to the heights of Catching Fire, but think it could reasonably make over $600 Million WW

I’m really interested in how this is going to go.
The book was insanely popular and outsold Songbirds and Snakes, so that should reflect in the box office.
Unlike the previous film, it is much more centered on the Games. That will be huge with mainstream audiences who might have been disappointed with the lack of spectacle.
The cast is absolutely stacked.
The biggest question mark I have is how the franchise will handle a male lead. Snow was a co lead in the previous film, and he was also a villain. This will be the first time the franchise has a male hero as the center. I wonder if it will interest male moviegoers who wouldn’t typically see a Hunger Games film.
Right now I’m predicting around 630M, but with a good marketing campaign and good reviews, it can hopefully make more.

From a directorial perspective, I think it’s the best of the series, and I really like the photography. I didn’t like the Snow prequel, but this one seems interesting (I haven’t read the book).
I think it will exceed 500. The Hunger Games is still a beloved saga

So Prosperina and Vitus are juet going to be Effie?
Trailer looks real good, I really wanted Kiefer to play Snow, but Fiennes will be a very cold individual for the part (pun intended)

from the opening shot I was like wow this looks like 28 years later and then…..

Hold on. The previous trailer’s aspect ratio was 1.90:1, but this one is presented in 2.39:1. Is this going for expanded aspect ratio as well?
