Surpassed the 2.5x break-even threshold. With a near 50/50 domestic/international split, it’s now firmly in profit territory. Andy Weir adaptations are 2/2 critically and commercially now.

This movie has that type of Spielberg feel and schmaltz (I mean that in a good way.) that movies today don’t really have. I think that’s why it’s doing so well.

So safe to say it will finish with more at the box office then Mando and Grogu.

Passed The Lego Movie ($470M) as Lord and Miller’s highest grossing film. Hard to believe the duo haven’t directed since 2014. This is their absolute magnum opus.

The break-even target has been achieved , now head to $600 million+.

Basically a 50-50 split between the US and int’l numbers. Very good chance of getting to $700M worldwide! 🤩

Still interesting to me that *Project Hail Mary* has such an even domestic/ overseas split, considering that Interstellar, Gravity, and The Martian were all 62 – 70 percent internationally heavy.
I know China had a major role in those films: Interstellar ($140m), Gravity ($70m), and The Martian ($94m). But even removing China’s gross, these were their overseas grosses:
* *Gravity* (2013) – $379m OS
* *Interstellar* (2014) – $390m OS
* *The Martian* (2015) – $308m OS (PHM may overtake this one)

Yeah it will definitely overtake The Martian now, which grossed $630M worldwide, $650M+ is locked imo.

Amaze those legs which should be enough to cross the $600M WW mark just as Michael makes its debut in 2 weeks from now which should do good overseas due to the singer being one of the most famous artists of all time worldwide compared to Bohemian Rhapsody that the Queen band are

I was wrong, it’s well on its way to 630+ million at this rate. Legs overseas have been surprisingly good since OW.
