First $100M+ opening of the year, but I think we’ll have to wait until Spider-Man: Brand New Day for the first $150M+ debut.

Some Redditors and YouTubers are doubting 1 billion but unless there’s a huge international drop or a Japanese disaster 1 billion is still at play.

The domestic drop this weekend will be higher but that means nothing of Latam holds and Japan delivers.

Seems nice for Mario Galaxy Easter Monday while only behind its predecessor with $20.1M

Daily numbers from Tuesday and beyond will see how will its daily numbers be behind its predecessor while facing a big drop then it’s predecessor had on its 2nd weekend that had $92.3M along with a 37% drop

50%+ 2nd weekend drop all in (Not saying it isn’t a hit btw)

Very big Monday, the percentage drop is bigger than the first film. 48% drop vs 42% drop for the first film. Day to day tracking will be important to try and figure out how this drops over the weekend.

I’m glad it’s doing so well but not quite as well as the original. Maybe just maybe it’ll get Nintendo to put more focus on story as well as visuals. Get the script right to make a movie that has more depth for more audience and revisits. There’s no reason if done right Mario can’t be as fun as Galaxy is but also have a story up there with the like of Toy Story 3.
