i got a trailer for this in front of a packed-to-the-gills screening of mario and not a single kid in that audience laughed or even reacted to it. so yea this is probably gonna make more than mario /j

I still don’t understand why it was decided that Animal Farm of all things needed the Illumination animal treatment
It would be funny if the trailers are all a ruse and the actual movie is completely straight. Trick the kids into getting a terrifying movie about communism 🤣

Well, it looks marginally better and more faithful in this trailer than the first one, but that’s not really saying much.
I know the word has lost most of its meaning but Angel Studios has to be the biggest producer of slop in the mainstream movie business. Like I keep seeing promo for their movies even though every single one of them look like they would’ve been direct to home video dvds 10 years ago

Interesting choice to release on May 1.

If this hit the theater then no other company can allow to use “bad movie” as the excuse to shelf their movie for tax ever again.

I predict it’ll sell at least one ticket

I have to wonder if the negative response to the first trailer, which branded this as mostly a comedy, led to this trailer, which focuses much more on the serious aspects of the story (AKA the actual content of the Orwell novel). I think the damage has been done, though. No one is taking this movie seriously.
Also, the fact that the animals are going to stage a second rebellion, against the pigs (or at least some of them–???), completely negates the message of Orwell’s novel. That goes without saying, because the 1954 animated film did that too and it’s been pointed out ad nauseum since then. Hard pass.

Movie looks like doodoo and probably is doodoo, but man I pray I’m never in a media anti-literacy competition and my opponent is Reddit for the Angel Studios category.

This looks horrendous. Why couldn’t they have stuck to the tone of the book?

it’s going to flop hard
audiences interested in an adaptation of Animal Farm are not interested in a kids version of it
