Man, Robert Rodriguez’s filmography is all over the place. He’s made some really cool films like *From Dusk Till Dawn*, *The Faculty*, *Sin City*, and *Alita: Battle Angel*, but he’s also given us kids’ movies like the *Spy Kids* series and *The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl*.

I’ll be honest, the first three *Spy Kids* movies are a ton of fun, with lots of wild, memorable moments and some crazy quotes (especially that Steve Buscemi line in the second one). And the fact that the first *Spy Kids* was added to the National Film Registry in 2024 is pretty amazing, to say the least.

  2. I have such fond memories of 1 and 2 and besides some wanky CGI, these movies hold up pretty well and I still enjoy them. They‘re fun, a great cast and they‘re cool af. The third one was too much imo and I never bothered to watch 4 and 5.

I remember Carla Gugino being a bit surprised when she was cast in a mother role at 30, but her and Banderas have such great chemistry.
