Most Studios learned not to open in between a Mario movie and another big tentpole film after Dungeons & Dragons opened in between the first Mario film and John Wick: Chapter 4 back in 2023.

  2. Warner Bros is off to a rough start but they should make up ground with Mortal Kombat 2.

March has not been a good year for Warner Bros for the past two years, which is weird since 2024 was very good for them.

Dang. Had a lot of fun with this last night, but it has future cult classic written all over it

Another L For WB after The Bride

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy also looks like in serious trouble as Mortal Kombat 2 needs for WB to improve well with their 2026 slates

    Oof.

I thought it was a decent watch, but I feel like audiences are getting bored of the whole “badass kills a bunch of people” genre with low/mid budget films. Novacaine, Working Man, Beekeeper, Ballerina, John Wick…

Not to mention it being unfortunately similar to Ready or Not 2.

Even for a mid-budget ($20M) film such as this one, it’s looking quite bad.
