Decent hold. If it follows GOAT’s late legs from here should finish around 165-175M. Maybe on the lower end if Mario has too much of an effect.
Side note, feel this shows how competition luck is a factor in performance for original films. There is likely some overlap in family audience with Project Hail Mary, as there was nothing major coming out this weekend and Hoppers had few PLFs left to lose so theoretically the hold should have been better looking at comparisons with other animated originals in the past few years. It’s unfortunate for Hoppers that it’s taking a one-two from PHM and Mario without the protection that franchise films have, but it will still have a good performance overall and should be Pixar’s best film post-COVID.
