It’s early, but this makes me think Star Wars: Starfighter will do really well next summer if it’s a crowd-pleaser.

2. It really resonated with audiences
3. Four-quadrant appeal. This is the type of movie that even your middle-aged family member who only goes to a theater whenever there’s a new Avatar out will look at and say “i wanna see that!”
4. IMAX FOMO. See it on the biggest screen possible and be blown away
5. There’s a cute marketable little guy in it. Audiences love cute marketable little guys

It overperformed in middle America. That tells me it’s the type of blockbuster lefties like and that right wingers don’t find “woke” or too preachy. It’s kinda like Maverick in that it’s a super old school good guys win spectacle story with a white male lead.
Plus ya know the movie itself was excellent.
