    1. Same grade as *The Martian*.

Compared to films directed by Phil Lord & Chris Miller:

      – *Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009):* A–

      – *21 Jump Street (2012):* B

      – *The LEGO Movie (2014):* A

      – *22 Jump Street (2014):* A–

    2. ***ALL. HAIL. LORD AND MILLER.***

      They never miss. *Ever.*

God, I want another Jump Street from them…

    3. I don’t know when we will see an A+ again for a blockbuster, Top Gun Maverick keeping its crown for 4 years. Truly was hoping for it here, great result for PHM regardless though.

wonder what’s gonna be the next blockbuster to get an A+ if this couldn’t get it (not counting marvel)

Lord and Miller have hit it big!

Welcome to the list of films that got close calls to A+.

    6. Great score, but I do wonder when we’ll see a major blockbuster with an A+ again. We’ve seen multiple movies come close recently but haven’t gotten there. (This in no way means that this needed an A+)

Fuckkkk I wanted that A+ so badly. I can see it maybe feeling a bit long, not having as much pure spectacle as say Interstellar, and a couple parts feeling kinda slow to regular audiences though. Not enough to hurt WOM or legs obviously. This movie is gonna be a hit.

Just got out from IMAX 70mm, beautiful film I adored it so much. Definitely a crowd pleaser my audience was laughing, crying and gave it a huge applause at the end.

Also the Dune trailer and Odyssey prologue in IMAX were glorious 😫

    9. I think A+ is almost impossible nowadays unless it’s a very targeted movie to a very specific audience that all know what they’re signing up for.

Everything is divisive now even just the concept of someone being a good person who does good deeds for humanity. So of course at least a few people would be cranky about the inspirational feel good movie making them feel inadequate or something subconsciously and drag the score down from A+.
