45 days to the day given May 15th release?
I wouldn’t be surprised. Still, there’s still a healthy mileage ahead in theatres.

    2. I don’t care about the numbers, I’m just glad I get to watch the movie again at home 🙂

    3. Bad decision imo! I would wait. They must be thinking people will buy it for the long weekend

    4. Movies don’t actually make that much less than they would without digital releases so this is fine actually.

    5. I wish we could just do like how it was in the DVd age where it came out three months after theaters

What an odd decision. Obsession was the number two movie yesterday. VOD shouldn’t come out until the movie falls out of the top 5.

I think it is too soon. I think they are jeopardizing the $400M worldwide number. We still have international territories that haven’t gotten the release yet. It will probably lose at least $10M domestic with this release date.

I wish they would wait at least one more week. That gets the 4th of July holiday weekend. And it would continue to be the horror offering at the box office until the new evil dead movie comes out.
