      Realistically Backroom will take a lot from Obsession especially since it most likely will take over social media narrative since it’s again an other YouTuber and it’s also a big opening weekend. It will slowly lose some steam while mando will keep higher theatre count for much longer. Thats my prediction. It’s a very good box-office results none the less.

      I will always cheer on the downfall of Disney Star Wars. The box office for this film is absolute schadenfreude.

      If ***Obsession*** beats *Star Wars* next weekend, then they have to delay the VOD drop.

      Many eyes would be on the box office this upcoming weekend for sure.

      People are gonna use this to dump on Mando & Grogu, and while it is embarrassing, we really should be putting more emphasis on how insanely good of a run this is turning into for Obsession.

      The same thing happened with Sinners relative to Thunderbolts*. So much more time was spent hating on the latter’s run rather than celebrating what Sinners was doing.

      ha this is Sound of Freedom destroying Mission Impossible and Indiana Jones all over again a few summers ago. a small indie movie out of nowhere destroying corporate mandate ip products

      I mean it’s true. Obsession’s run is insanely good and needs to be praised more.

      Said that, I think we can argue that there isn’t much overlap between Star Wars and Obsession; they are not mutually exclusive (I go see X instead of Y). The news here is that Mandalorian has failed within its own environment, and without any actual competition, to attract people.

      Well tbf kids are at school and not off Tuesday. A lot of obsession viewers are young adults who are out of the spring semester or can take off work.

      Now this weekend will be a different story. If Mando falls below Obession then, then we have a massive fall off.

      If Wednesday or Thursday Obsession is over Mandalorian & Grogu, not only would it be the first time a live action Star Wars film failed to be #1 on its third weekend, or the first time it failed to be #1 on its second weekend, it would be the first time a Star Wars movie failed to stay #1 before the end of its first week
