The Hangover Part II turns 15. The $80M comedy was a huge hit and broke several records at the time. Grossing $254.4M domestically and $586.7M worldwide it ended up being the 8th highest grossing film of 2011 despite negative reviews. A third movie released in 2013 but disappointed.

Transphobia aside, I don’t think Part II is that big of a downgrade from the original Hangover. I think it’s still leagues ahead above Part III

Is todd Phillips just taking a break, seriously in bad blood with WB or just done directing?

Honestly wonder how a Hangover 4 would do now. Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms have both said they want to do another meanwhile Todd Phillips doesn’t and Zach Galifianakis thinks there’s no audience for another

An R-rated comedy making nearly $600M worldwide today would be unthinkable.

    5. It really will never be astounding how massive the first two Hangover films were. Not just domestically, these were huge internationally as well.

It’s funny how the *Joker* films and *The Hangover* trilogy had the same fate, and Todd Phillips made the same mistake too. The first film was an unexpected box office and critical success, but instead of understanding why it worked, he doubled down with unnecessary sequels that were dull, overbudget (I read that a huge portion of each *Hangover* sequel’s budget went to the cast and director, especially the third film), overly edgy, and completely missed the point. Unlike *Joker*, though, the *Hangover* sequels at least remained financially successful, even if they were widely disliked.

This might be one of the biggest movies to just be totally forgotten within 5 years of its release.

I’ve seen the 2nd Hangover film that takes place in Bangkok, Thailand which was fine although it doesn’t match its predecessor had in 2009 which the third one was really terrible
