Can this film leg out or is the competition in the upcoming weeks too steep?

Meh domestic number, really bad overseas numbers. This feels like Captain America Brave New World but somehow even worse because the overseas support is that weak.

Disney just give it up. This movie is underperforming, you’ll recover with Toy Story 5

So now it’s $100M after all. Might see a huge drop next week.

Star Wars needs to get out of the post prequels and pre sequels era with their content… they won’t though as Filoni won’t give up on his pet characters like Ahsoka, Bo Katan, as well as this, Disney won’t want to be away from baby yoda because of the merch.

I love how most of the reporting on this obscures how this movie is destined to lose ~100 million. If it cost with marketing 300 million, then I would think it would need at least 500 million to break even, and that’s being incredibly generous. I struggle to see how this gets meaningfully past 400 million with what the international is looking like.

Looking forward to that $97

Could’ve been worse domestically, terrible INT. The lesson here to me is to not make a movie continuing from a show for starters, but more importantly is somehow SW needs to appeal more outside America.

So $95-98M 4 day domestic once final numbers come out.
A $100M 4 day figure is just PR fluff for headlines which shows how bad things are for Star Wars that $100M 4 day is supposed to be good.
