Love to see original, non-IP films going strong at the box office. In just the past 6 months, we have had:
* Marty Supreme – $191m (biggest A24 film)
* Send Help – $94m
* GOAT – $193m (6th highest grossing original animated film post-pandemic)
* Hoppers – $371m (2nd biggest original in general post-pandemic)
* The Drama – $128m (3rd biggest A24 film)
* Obsession – $44m (and counting)
so all that guffawing about audiences possibly being turned off by the twist was pretty much for nothing
