Damn that’s not bad. I still think this might have a bad drop next weekend tho

Kinda obvious watching it tbh. Feels more like a family crowd-pleaser with Grogu than a super frontloaded fan event movie. If it gets close to a $100M 4-day, that’s a sign it could have pretty solid legs.

If “this might hit $100m for the four day weekend” is *surpassing* industry expectations then this franchise is truly cooked.

Thunderbolts did 24.6m Saturday. A 22% increase from True Friday.

I keep using Thunderbolts as a comp because the fan base is older, white, mostly male like Mando. Also, wanted to show an 18% bump isn’t anything special or shows its playing like a family film.

Honestly looking at this objectively this is a “fine enough”performance, definition of a shoulder shrug. I’m sure Disney is a little disappointed but let’s be honest Mandalorian as popular as he is is still likely a B-Tier character as far as popularity is concerned. He’s no where near many of the original or prequel trilogy characters. Even after season 2 I seriously doubt this he opening well above $100m. Probably somewhere similar to where B-Tier marvel characters perform like Ant Man or Fantastic Four. And this is coming from someone who expected a Flash level failure

    6. Dear Disney, no more Disney+ TV shows becoming a feature film.

      Thanks.

I just watched it soild crowed at my showing and lots of kids. Its definitely a family movie. As they really lean in to Baby Yoda and his cuteness

Just to add on, basically every family I know with kids is seeing this.
