I hope they bring that same energy to the voting booth whenever possible. 🙏🏻

Man, screw that “deal with it, it’s a tool” guy. Guarantee he’s the type of lazy bloke who has AI generate entire professional memos for him and who asks AI deep analytical questions without double-checking the answers.

it’s not enough they stole everything from us they want to rub it in our faces too

The smugness of some of these speakers is truly reprehensible. So out of touch.

Because it isn’t what it is being hyped to be yet, can be wildly inaccurate and will literally kill the planet to get it to scale and maintained. Until quantum computing is available, AI data centers will be consuming water and power at ridiculous levels that will not be sustainable

It’s always the people with investments in AI who keep telling us how inevitable and beneficial it’ll be, like if you need to sell it so bad, maybe it ain’t that fucking amazing

Who the fuck invited Scott Borchetta?

Rich people trying to convince college graduates that they should embrace their jobs should being replaced is fucking WILD.

God. Clips like this just make it harder to believe this is our reality.

Why even bring up AI at a graduation ceremony? Shouldn’t the speech be focused on celebrating the graduates?

Feels especially tone-deaf given the state of the job market these grads are being forced into and how AI is constantly championed by these CEOs as a replacement for human employees. “Go forth and become redundant!” is certainly not the message I’d want to hear at my graduation.

I am trying my best to not use AI. And this gives me hope that the next generation wants nothing to do with either.

First guy dropping a totally sincere “your duty is clear: to build and maintain those robots.”

    12. I’ve never used it with intent; tech keeps sneaking it into things and making me accidentally complicit. I think we actually have to foment The Scary Response for anything to change.

    13. They speak so confidently as if they already won. Like there’s nothing the people can do

    14. katebushcartwheel on

Sorry but this means absolutely nothing. They’ll boo AI because they dislike the idea of it but a majority of them are using it for the most menial tasks, even writing emails to their professors.

Ah yes. There’s nothing more inspirational than listening to assholes speak their minds. Great job, whoever picked the commencement speaker.

    16. The fact that these people seem genuinely shocked by the reaction just goes to show how far removed and indifferent wealthy members of older generations are from the reality young people are facing

    17. The next industrial revolution, she intones with awe.

She says that like the last one wasn’t a handful of men becoming gods while children died in the machines.

I graduate uni in the next few months (hopefully).

Here’s to hoping the speaker at my graduation won’t mention AI. And if they do, that they get booed.

MORE OF THIS. You can tell how much this hurts them. Only CEOs want this crap.

    20. BubblyFlow6143 on

Well yes because AI is gonna take a lot of those entry level jobs thise new grads are gonna need.

    21. Playful_Secret_2148 on

Booooooooooooooo 🍅🍅🍅🍅 to all those greedy CEOs trying to brainwash the babies into believing AI is the future. I love how our future (Gen Z) booed and laughed in all their faces!

    22. turkletontv on

The thing is, they are calling it “artificial intelligence” when its really “automated intelligence”. They don’t have a clue what they are speaking on.

    23. ittollsforthee1231 on

The fact that they’re all so surprised to be booed shows our out of touch these rich fucks are.
