Man, screw that “deal with it, it’s a tool” guy. Guarantee he’s the type of lazy bloke who has AI generate entire professional memos for him and who asks AI deep analytical questions without double-checking the answers.

Because it isn’t what it is being hyped to be yet, can be wildly inaccurate and will literally kill the planet to get it to scale and maintained. Until quantum computing is available, AI data centers will be consuming water and power at ridiculous levels that will not be sustainable

It’s always the people with investments in AI who keep telling us how inevitable and beneficial it’ll be, like if you need to sell it so bad, maybe it ain’t that fucking amazing

Why even bring up AI at a graduation ceremony? Shouldn’t the speech be focused on celebrating the graduates?
Feels especially tone-deaf given the state of the job market these grads are being forced into and how AI is constantly championed by these CEOs as a replacement for human employees. “Go forth and become redundant!” is certainly not the message I’d want to hear at my graduation.

Sorry but this means absolutely nothing. They’ll boo AI because they dislike the idea of it but a majority of them are using it for the most menial tasks, even writing emails to their professors.

I graduate uni in the next few months (hopefully).
Here’s to hoping the speaker at my graduation won’t mention AI. And if they do, that they get booed.
