      >That preview figure is slightly less than the Thursday cash made by 2018’s origin story, Solo: A Star Wars Story which was $14.1M. That turned into an $84.4M 3-day and $103M 4-day Memorial Day opening

      “It’s over” status?

Same exact preview number as Captain America Brave New World if this holds.

Remember about a week ago, when we were talking about “surges in excitement” and how surprisingly well it’s tracking? A 100m 3 day? Where did that talk go?

    4. Opening less than Solo and on its way to a total gross leas than Solo too

It’s a Star Wars movie and it won’t make a profit theatrically

Its crazy. 12m from previews starting at 2pm and having all PLFs* from 4300 theaters for the first Star Wars movie in theaters since 2019 should be seen as a disaster, lol. I think the goalposts have already been moved. Will be interesting how the film plays out over the weekend.

*The Jon Favreau directed movie is playing at 4,300 theaters, including 425 Imax, with the full suite of PLF, 4DX, 3D and ScreenX.

    6. Going to make less than Solo.

Not really sure why this was made as theatrical movie. I don’t think the show as _that_ popular.

I maintain that if this movie came out shortly after season 2, this would have a chance. As it currently is, the peak love for Mando and baby yoda is long over.

2.1 million lower than Solo: A Star Wars Story’s 14.1 million previews from 2018. Similar internal multiplier (7.3x) gets this to 87.6 million 4-day.

    9. Am not sure why people are surprised this opened lower than a Han Solo film. But here we are.

Some franchises just dont have room for so many spin offs (most of which hammer the exact same idea).

    10. People were throwing around hoopla like “$25M in previews! As much as Avatar” without considering any other factors.
