So $700M is probably not happening, but an incredible run and still has an outside shot at passing Interstellar’s original run WW.
So its gonna end up doing more at domestic than international…
Would have loved to see this film surpass my original $710M worldwide prediction.
But at least I got the $240M domestic total prediction right….
This thing has strong legs. It really became a smaller version of Top Gun Maverick.

$700M is dead, but $680M still possible
Imo, the over-performance of the year so far. Ryan has always been a popular star, but his movies were rarely blockbuster hits, so seeing Project Hail Mary’s amazing performance is well-deserved.Â
Its domestic gross alone would place it at no. 4 of Gosling’s biggest films:
1. *Barbie* (2023) – $1.44B
2. ***Project Hail Mary*** (2026) – $655m (with $327m DOM)
3. *La La Land* (2016) – $523m
4. *Bladerunner 2049* (2017) – $277m
5. *The Fall Guy* (2024) – $181m
6. *Crazy Stupid Love* (2011) – $145m
In terms of DOM/OS split, this is more like Star Wars than Interstellar or Gravity
makes sense as it’s more family oriented
it’s a feel good movie and people really want to feel good around here
