75% male is FILTHY. Great diversity though.

I mentioned to a friend I saw Sheep Detectives with later yesterday that Kitana was way more of a main character than the trailers showed and she said “i wouldve actually gone with you if I knew that.”. I’m wondering if not focusing more marketing on her was a mistake?

The 72% definite recommend on PostTrak and the 90% audience RT suggests that the MK2 Cinemascore was a bad sample batch as suspected

75% male is crazy. MK 2021 was 69% male and had a -73% 2nd weekend decline, in part because it was day-and-date on HBO Max. MK2 might actually pull off something similar despite being in 500 more theaters and opening to twice as much.

    5. Lewis Tan’s fans and the 20 Cole Young fanatics probably knocked down the grade for cinemascore.

      Movie is amazing!

We don’t have an exact PostTrak score for the first movie, but Deadline did mention that it was lower than Demon Slayer (78%) which opened the same weekend.

With those demos we can see a path to profitability . Latino and black go to movies in groups .
Maybe slight flirting that wasn’t forced between Sonia and Johnny cage could’ve helped. If even the anti romance king Jeremy Jahns said he missed Sonia and cage moments. That would’ve helped to get more couples on board so the female demo wouldn’t be so low.
