It won‘t be a part of the current TOP 10 Animation, which, I‘m sure, is quite surprising to a lot of people, considering how well the first film did:
1. Ne Zha 2 – 2.2B
2. Zootopia 2 – 1.87B
3. Inside Out 2 – 1.7B
4. The Lion King – 1.66B
5. Frozen II – 1.45B
6. The Super Mario Bros. Movie – 1.36B
7. Frozen – 1.28B
8. Incredibles 2 – 1.24B
9. Minions – 1.15B
10. Toy Story 4 – 1.07B
But 1B+, is 1B+, so I think Illumination/Nintendo/Universal can still feel pretty good about this result. Although, in order to avoid another decrease, they must do a better job with the next film, or else they won‘t be as lucky as they are now.
No franchise is 100% safe!

I wonder what they’re gonna do for the third. When it comes to Mario, you can’t really go bigger than Galaxy can you?

Both of these movies are so garbage

Still a massive hit, but I reckon Nintendo will try and put a bit more substance into their next entry
At the moment, it stands to end its global run $400M less than its predecessor, which is not a pattern they’d want to follow with the third movie

Are we sure this is real and not box office mojo errors again?

Michael will be our first billion dollar grosser this year at this rate
$1B should still be in good standing, but it’s looking like another member that just barely squeaks over it like The Dark Knight/Jurassic World 3.
Have we gotten the past mon-fri numbers internationally?
Watch the final number be 985 million.
Billion is highly unlikely I feel like
What was Lilo and Stitch and Moana 2 at by this time?
It’s definitely getting past $1B by the end of the month. Very solid success!
I’ll be damned. Congratulations to it.
They still need to write these better, though.
Honestly, I don‘t see a way where this film does not pass 1B+.
1. wknd: 372M
2. wknd: 628M
3. wknd: 750M
4. wknd: 831M
5. wknd: 897M
6. wknd: 935M+
1.0B-1.03B final.
