nice budget for the sheep detectives. should at the very least make it back when it’s all said and done

Hey, that’s higher than the previous $68M budget that was reported

80 million for Mortal Kombat isn’t too bad. As long as it doesn’t fall off a cliff next weekend the global start should be around 80 million dollars. A decent 2.5x multi and it’s right at breakeven. It really just depends on reception.

      > Sheep Detectives $75M

“GRAND LEO UK PRODUCTIONS LIMITED” spent 65M GBP though the end of 2024 (Filming seems to have gone through July 2024) generating a 14M GBP tax incentive. Using the spot exchange rate at the end of 2024 would make that total to $64M USD, using the average exchange rate through 2024 would total $65M.

      so $65M + spending in 2025 + spending in 2026 = 75M?

I suspect this number’s being pushed a bit down (tracking seems fairly weak) but we’ll only know in October. Given this seems to encompass 6 months after the end of the production shoot (per wiki though that’s an unusual snapshot) it seems plausible.

That budget for **Mortal Kombat 2** isn’t too surprising. I always suspected that its budget was going to be higher than $68 million.

Sheep detectives is definitely losing money theatrically at that price. But I think it will be in the top 5 on the apple movie charts for years. It will do great business on streaming.

Mortal Kombat should be fine as long as the WOM is good, but I don’t think Sheep Detectives is going to be making enough money to turn even.

Mortal Kombat 2 should be interesting to see how well it does on its legs while Sheep Detectives doesn’t look good

The Sheep Dective cost more than 3 times as much as Lee Cronins The Mummy. Thats insane

    10. Spring 2026 of movies is way too crowded right now.

Wasn’t there one before like that?
